Longing for more?

School of the Spirit is an online and in-person twelve-month journey into contemplative practices that make your life a daily prayer, rooting your choices through your relationship with God.

 The distinctiveness of School of the Spirit is seen in at least three ways:

  • The strength of diversity that comes from openness to seekers from all Christian denominations who are searching for a heart-opening transformation into the mind of Christ;

  • A focus on Jesus' spiritual practices and the centuries-old practices that spiritual seekers down through the ages used to open themselves to God’s transforming work and

  • A vital and committed community to hold each participant’s journey. By placing ourselves vulnerably before God and each other to be schooled by the Holy Spirit, God’s love and grace renew our minds and revive our spirits — and our ministries are enlivened, too. At the same time, our yoke becomes easy as we abide ever more deeply in God's interior freedom, care, and love.

Core Components

SoS offers a pathway to wholeness, blending ancient wisdom with modern learning in a contemporary setting through our core components, strengthening your soul and nurturing your growth for the sake of others. Click the down arrow for more information about each component.

Every three months for a year, I traveled from Virginia to a secluded retreat house in Statesville, NC for a 2-day immersion retreat with 30 others to tend my soul. School of the Spirit provided me a safe and sacred place where I was able to have a deep conversation with God, where I found myself, and where I could be me. It was truly a life-giving and life-transforming experience. God can use it to change your life, too.
